I received my B.F.A. in Art from Colorado State University in 1973.

I spent a thirty-six year career at Colorado College teaching students to weave on twenty floor looms packed into the basement of the campus center. I worked with the college to elevate its Arts and Crafts Program to a campus institution, and I ultimately became that Program’s Director.

Our courses in weaving, jewelry, and pottery became so popular that students lined up at 4 a.m. in the morning to sign up for a coveted slot. That basement became a refuge in the bustle of campus life for so many of my students the same way the weaving studio was for me in college at Colorado State.

I have also held positions as Visiting Faculty for the Visual Art Department at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Exhibition Chair for “Fiber Celebrated 1997,” Artist-in-Residence at Woodman-Roberts Elementary School, and Assistant Director at Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center’s Bemis Art School.

Throughout all of my time teaching, I kept producing my own fiber art. I have shown my work in California, Colorado, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Minnesota, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. My work is part of many private collections around the United States.
